Our trip... er, most of it... Run-a-muck Map
Well, it's been a long time since mom and I (Donna and Cranky for non-family!! GBG) took a Run-a-muck... and off to see the wizard!!! GBG Times-a-wastin'!!!
Went to son Casey's for Easter with the gran'kids... always good to see'um!!!! The "other" gram and gramp were there too!! It was great to visit with them!!! It'd been too long!!!
Had to get groceries for lunch and visiting...

Turn out the lights... yeah, all good things must end... sigh.. and on down the road!!! We got to travel the long diagonal across Nv, UL to LR - to Mesquite, Nv so we could travel thru Zion Nat Park the next day... along the way, we went thru Tonopah, Nv and down the Extraterrestrial Hwy 375. It's marked for "range cattle", passed thru here quite a few times and saw nothing... the I got "lucky"!!! Yup, had to dodge cows on my scoot!!! Anyway, mom got to take some traffic cam shots!!!
My "traffic cam" followed that cow all across the road and finally shot 'er in the... yeah.. GBG!!
... and of course, we got to pass by Area 51, Rachael, Nv!!! ... and visit the little guy!!
Next AM we went thru Zion... Zion has all the views up!! Great on a scoot!!!
If Ya click on the pic, at mon's upper right you will see a cutout.. that is one of a series of vent holes for a 1+ mile long unlit tunnel!!!
All the rock is very colorful, great to drive along and look at it!
This is "the barn" at Parry Lodge Kanab, Ut..... a lot of folks right now, that have been there, are lost in memories!!! Lotsa good times had around that barn!!!
Next AM it was off to Bryce Nat Park, again, the colors are amazing, it was a cloudy day so the colors weren't as bright.. yeah, snow up there too!

The next day was Grand Canyon, south side.... Now I just want to tell Ya, IF you ever go... for Gods sake!!! DO NOT go on spring break!!!! Overflow!!!! Geez!!! Oh, and construction was in process.... We got a few shots leading up to the main site.. once there it was survival just to get out!!! Whew....
The river was flowing!!!!
... now help me here... I'm looking down a gazzilion feet... and they want me to climb a 30/40 ft tower? OK, didn't do that!! GBG
Spent the nite at Holbrook, Az and went to Petrified Forest Nat Park the next AM, it was @ 20 miles east of Holbrook... and on the way to Roswell, Nm our next overnite...

Of course, we were good little tourists... and stayed on the trail... ahem... GBG
After our getup in Roswell, we made our way to Carlsbad Caverns for the grand walkaround!!!!
This is as close as we got!!! THE F)$%*!#)$%*)#$ing ELEVATORS WERE DOWN!!!!! They were being totally rebuilt... maybe open by Memorial Day!!!! $*)!#$%!#$))$!#* ... I say... I'd been there before and got the walkaround...
I also took that path behind mom down... it's over a mile long and a 20% grade... with no elevator, the guide pointed out... going down was optional... coming back up was mandatory!!!!!

I hafta pay homage to Hackberry, Az on my way back, I would've called my friend for a visit, but we were running late and have been on the road for over a week and just wanted to get down the road... maybe next time!!!!!

I wanted a souvenir shot glass, but all they had was Route 66, I asked the counter lady about them, she said... we can't keep 'um in stock!!! Boy Howdy, bet I could fix that one!! GBG
It was a good run, Grand Canyon was way over crowded... think I can fix that in my June run!!! Going by there again on a VROC rally!!!! The elevators being down really did hurt.. you have to be inside to grasp the size of the cavern... huge just doesn't quite do it justice!!!
