Betty and Lisa visit Kirk in Phoenix

Pics are top to bottom, click on a pic for a larger pic, text for a pic is under it.

Well, Betty and youngest Lisa and hubby Mike were getting out of frozen Illinois and headed to warmer climate in Phoenix to visit her oldest son Kirk.   As I haven't seen either of the kids for many decades I thought just maybe it was about time!

Donna and I took 2 days over and back, just 400 mile days, we're old and slow!!!  As I'm apt to say, "I know where I'm headed and I'm not in a hurry to get there!".  GBG

Weather was nice and they will be headed  back to 0* weather Monday, leaving Phoenix  mid 70s and that will be a real shock!

Donna and Lisa outside visiting.

Betty, Donna and Lisa enjoying the day, it was a little cool, but compared to 0*....

Mike was ambling around....

Kirk's grand daughters were making Valentines for the ladies.

Lisa's turn, she got a face look thru and she IS a sweetheart!  GBG

Mom getting her card....

Finally got a pic with Kirk, on the right,  visiting.

Kirk lives on the water, duh...   and that is his patio boat.  VERY nice place!  Guess that is a live river that flows thru his neighborhood, he caught a 7 pound fish out of it!

Better smile shot!

Donna, Kirk and Betty chatting....

Kirk's wife Beth and dog checking things out...

Had a nice day long visit and the next day they were all headed to a vacation home that is more out in the boonies...   I'm sure all had a great time!

It was time for us to backtrack and it was a nice ride home, even got some rain coming back over Pacheco  Pass.

Ruby - Hand Protectors - National Cycles

Pics are from top to bottom, like it makes a difference...  text for a pic is under it, click on a pic for a larger pic....

While back I lost one of my hand protectors, noticed it missing in Delta, UT.  I drove from there to Tonopah, Nv, didn't notice much difference so I took the other side off and tossed it...

Well, I had a mission up at GGNC and it was in the 40s and cold enough to over ride my heated grips.     Well it was time to go  looking for a better option.

I heard some good things about National Cycles so off I went.   There was only one perspective on the sites I visited, straight on, and after I looked real hard, the images showed what I guessed was a curvature distortion, like they were curved, like they should be!

I took a chance and ordered 'um!  They were a tad of POS to assemble and the instructions said to be careful and not over tighten!  Well, I put 'um together and  when it came time to install, I had to take the windshield off to un-spin the mirrors because the are held on by the mirror mounts.  It was late, for us ol' farts, so I put 'um on the work bench.  All was fine up to now, no cracks...

Next AM....  stress cracks, sigh...  One had to be super glued as it cracked thru to the side...  For $80 bucks, they're gonna #$*%)@#$)%!$#  work!!! And they do!

As you will see they DO have a nice curved face to focus the air past your hand.  As in most scoots, the bulk of the air comes from underneath and the normal is for air to flow up and over the scoot, and in my case even more so as I have lowers to catch some more air.  That is why they appear to have more plastic below your hands and so for they are a big success!

View straight on, the scoot is on it's stand, but I think a fair perspective!  You can see the stress cracks by the right side of the mounting plate, by the windshield.

NOW you can see the curvature!!!  That focus the air around your hands!!!

Had to get my mitt in a pic for a size / location idea!

A tad expensive, but if Ya own and ride a scoot, Ya have padiddled a whole lot more for lessor things!
